Paisley School District

Closing date: Feb 20, 2026

Mission Statement:

The Paisley School District will provide a seamlessly articulated preschool through twelfth grade education that is academically challenging. We recognize the unique community involvement of a small rural school and the global perspective of a diverse student population. Thus, our commitment is to develop well rounded citizens ready for college, the workforce, and a lifetime of service to their community.

Paisley Community:

The community of Paisley is located along Oregon Route 31 in the heart of Lake County, between Summer Lake and Lake Abert. There are approximately 250 residents in the community.

Paisley boasts a diverse landscape where desert meets forest. Local residents are supported by the ranching and timber industries as well as the U.S. Forest Service. Paisley is a hub for high desert recreation, with attractions like the ancient Paisley Caves, the Fremont-Winema National Forest, and Lake Abert. Historically, it is significant for archaeological discoveries at the Paisley Caves, which contain some of the oldest evidence of human habitation in the Western Hemisphere.

Paisley School District:

The Paisley School District is comprised of two dynamic educational programs:

  • Paisley Charter School – our K-12 brick-and-mortar school, which includes a residential dormitory serving both international and Oregon-based high school students. Paisley Charter School currently serves approximately 80 students K-12 on one campus.
  • Paisley Distance Learning Program (DLP) – a K-8 virtual charter school serving students across Oregon with personalized, home-based instruction. The current enrollment in the DLP is approximately 240 students K-8.

Established in 1917 and reimagined as a charter school in 2003, Paisley Charter School has remained committed to academic excellence, creative problem-solving, and community connection. Our dormitory provides a residential experience for up to 15 students, adding valuable cultural and academic diversity to our high school program. The Paisley Distance Learning Program, launched in 2010, is highly regarded across the state for academic achievement, student support, and family-centered practices.

Accredited by Cognia, Paisley School District is committed to a process of continuous improvement guided by research-based standards. The district embraces innovation, reflective practice, and collaboration to ensure that all students thrive – both in the classroom and beyond.

The Paisley School District is guided by a superintendent/principal at Paisley Charter School and a principal at the Paisley Distance Learning Program. The district is supported by the Lake County Education Service District, based in Lakeview, Oregon.
