Welcome to Union Gap School District

Union Gap School District holds a rich history, proudly established as the second school district in Washington State while it was still a territory. Our charter was signed by none other than Ulysses S. Grant, showcasing our deep roots in the community. Today, the district serves approximately 560 students in preschool through 8th grade, all housed in a single, modern facility that reflects our commitment to education.

Thanks to the steadfast support of our voters, our current building opened its doors in September 2009. In 2017, we expanded further by adding a six-classroom wing, designed specifically to reduce class sizes in kindergarten through 3rd grade. In November 2024, our community once again demonstrated its dedication to student success by passing a $12 million bond to enhance safety and security features and construct a state-of-the-art auxiliary gym. Looking ahead, our next levy will be on the ballot in February 2026.

Our district is home to an exceptional team of approximately 80 certificated, classified, and administrative staff, all dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment. Beyond academics, Union Gap School serves as a vital hub for the community. Our facilities host a wide array of events, including sports competitions, extended day and evening student learning activities, parent learning nights, academic celebrations, musical performances, and more. Additionally, we proudly provide space for AAU sports practices and events, reinforcing our role as a cornerstone of community engagement.
