The Arlington School District is actively seeking candidates for the position of
superintendent/principal. Arlington School District is located in Gilliam County in the City
of Arlington, Oregon. Arlington is on I-84 on the Columbia River, 54 miles east of The
Dalles and 73 miles west of Pendleton. The district’s 120 students (elementary, middle
and high school) all attend school on the same campus.
As per the City of Arlington website, Arlington is located on the majestic Columbia River,
two hours east of Portland. Arlington has a 2024 population of of 641. It is a safe,
friendly community perfect for those looking to slow down and savor the little things in
life. With the ideal riverfront location, Arlington is a gateway to adventure both on water
and dry land.
The Arlington School District has Highly Qualified and Certified Professional Educators
in every classroom. The district utilizes a K-12 standards-based teaching and learning
model tied directly to Common Core Standards and Oregon Skillsets. Students at
Arlington High School can access the Early College Program through Community
College partners offering coursework starting as early as sophomore year, earning dual
credit for college and high school courses toward earning an Oregon Diploma. The
school also offers a Professional Technical Education track for high school students
aligned and enhanced by the PTE/CTE skillsets.
